Reggae artiste Triple Ess is ready to unleash his unique sound on the world with a single called ‘Love Is What We Need’ which features superstars Luciano and Busy Signal.
He feels that the release is quite timely given the emotional turmoil being experienced in the United States as the Black Lives Matter movement has ignited worldwide protests in the wake of the death of George Floyd at the hands of police officers.
“This song could not come out at a better time, a time of great turbulence and uncertainty, what with the Black Lives Matter movement with the protests in the US over the death of George Floyd, which comes directly after COVID-19 pandemic with all those deaths and rising unemployment and uncertainty. The world is in a dark place right now, that’s why we need reggae music, that’s why we need this song,” the artiste whose real name is Solomon Salmon, said.
The song has been pre-released on radio, but the official single will be released in June on the Triple Ess Music label.
Born on 16th December 1989, in Portland, he was raised in Portmore, St. Catherine. Triple Ess discovered music early on through attendance a school barbecues, class parties and fĂȘtes while attending Bridgeport High School in Portmore. He began to frequently visit recording studios such as JR Records owned by reggae superstar JR Reid where he discovered his true calling and began working as an audio engineer.
“That was the start of my journey in music,” he said.
He worked as an audio engineer for nine years fine-tuning his skills. By 2014, Triple Ess had become a senior audio engineer at the world-renowned recording studio Mixing Lab owned by the legendary Ezroy Francis.
