The single, is an ode to the ‘chronic’, which sees Sanchez boldly declaring “Ah wanna bun it and let out the smoke like choo choo train …smoke it when I’m writing, this is the right thing…” . There are few artistes who can create the right tone and mood for a single of this nature, but Sanchez is at his meditative best with ‘Food For The Brain’. Sanchez delivered one of the seminal ‘weed’ tunes with the classic ‘Chronic’ with the brilliant line, ‘I man don’t smoke chronic to bother no one…”
“My passion is music. That is how I communicate with the world. When I sing, it is coming straight from the heart, so whatever the genre, I give it my best shot … and the rest is up to the fans,” the singer who is known for gospel songs such as ‘Amazing Grace’, told Loop News.
Sanchez recently concluded a hectic summer season which saw him doing shows in the Caribbean, Europe and North America. His most recent event was the Philly Jerk Festival, last month, where he again thrilled enthusiastic fans, who acknowledged that no-one can compare to the singer with the golden voice.
He also scored a major collaboration with ‘Mr. Boombastic’, Shaggy, on a new single, ‘With You’ for Ranch Entertainment. The song, recorded on the heavy-hitting Reminisce riddim, is a throwback to the days when the dancehall bubbled with clean, positive, fun-filled energy.
“I am just trying to do great songs for my fans,” he said.
