Former Reggae Boyz Jorginho James is to face a Texas court in October after assaulting his wife Crystal James — again — while out on bond.

The 30-year-old who made his senior debut for Jamaica at age 17 while attending Kingston College in 2012, was seen in a viral video, punching his wife repeatedly while their young daughter is spotted in the background trying to stop him in the couple’s home in Houston, Texas.

A video has already gone viral on the platform formally known as Twitter, with his frightened wife saying that she just got an automated call that James is out on bond.

“If anything happens to me , it was him. I need help,” she said in a video with CCTV footage of James punching her several times..

He has a lot of people helping him because they don’t know how bad the abuse is. If I don’t speak up, something is going to happen to me. I am very much afraid.”

James, who played for Jamaica twice in 2012, was charged in March 2024 for assaulting a family member impeding breathing (strangling) his wife in the Harris County District Court in Houston. Despite his history he has been granted a second bond in the amount of US$20,000 and is due back in court in October.

Then following the latest incident, on August 31, he was charged with Violation of Protective Order or Bond Conditions. That condition required that he wear an ankle monitor which he has been doing since March.

He also represented Harbour View in the local premier league, before moving overseas where he had several short spells, mostly trials at various clubs.
