‘Sidem’, penned by rising dancehall singjay Peaches Adaba, and which is dedicated to the social media driven love affair between Vybz Kartel and Sidem Ozturk, has grabbed the attention of so many dancehall fans.

“The feedback has been phenomenal so far. The video has been getting a lot of reposts and shares all over social media and that has caused a spike in the radio play and streaming numbers on Spotify,” Peaches Adaba, whose real name is Sherese Chisholm, said.

Produced by Adaba Entertainment, Peaches Adaba uses sweet melodies and breathy tones to sing about the extraordinary kind of love shared by social media darlings, Vybz Kartel and Sidem in a song appropriately titled “Sidem“. Peaches reflects on the highs and lows of the couple’s turbulent relationship with accompanying visuals, even paying tribute to “238“.

Paragraph 238 is the paragraph the Privy Council used to overturn the deejay’s conviction.

“A lot of fans appreciate the attention to imagery and the storyline of a great modern day love story,” Peaches said.
