There was tragedy on the nation’s streets on the first day of the school year as a nine- year-old boy died as a result of injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle crash in Christiana, Manchester on Monday morning.
The boy, who is the son of a policewoman, was being transported by her to school when the collision happened on the Sedburgh main road in the parish between a gray Honda Fit and a white Range Rover sports utility vehicle.
A video emerged on social media which showed passers-by teaming up to transport the body of the policewoman, who is a constable assigned to the Christiana Police Station, from the crashed vehicle.
The police confirmed that the boy died and the policewoman, whose name has been withheld, has since been admitted to hospital for treatment. Loop News will have more as the story breaks.
