The taxi man and bus operator who were arrested in the Corporate Area on Friday, September 13 by members of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB) for having a combined total of more than 1,100 unpaid traffic tickets, were fined during their appearances in the Kingston and St Andrew Traffic Court on Monday, September 16.

The taxi driver, 26-year-old Cleveland Dockery of an Arnett Gardens address, was charged for over 100 outstanding traffic tickets, having no motor vehicle insurance coverage, forgery, uttering forged documents and conspiracy to deceive.

Dockery was convicted of all the traffic offences and fined $49,000, with an alternative of seven days in prison, and his driver’s licence was suspended for three years.

He is to return to court on Thursday, September 26, to answer to the forgery-related charges.

The bus operator, 53-year-old Rohan Williams of Crescent Road, Kingston 10, who was arrested for having more than 1,000 unpaid traffic tickets, was convicted for most of the offences and fined $405,000 or 30 days, and his driver’s licence was also suspended for three years.

Williams was remanded in custody to be tried for some of the traffic offences which were allegedly committed between 2015 and 2017.
