The art of free styling is seen and heard on the corners of Jamaica randomly. You can run into a group of youths testing their lyrical abilities amongst each other on any given Dancehall or Reggae beat/instrumental.
The wave of new acts that have risen over the past three years is a testament to the culture of Dancehall.
Now we gonna speak on a young man who hails from Kingston and goes by the name of Dada Kazmyk. He is a writer by day and a full fledged entertainer by night. That too will soon change.
His Government name is Shavoughn Markland. Has been writing for years and has penned for some renown acts in Dancehall. Now he’s working on a debut project set to drop this January.
He had a viral moment with his freestyle where labels have been calling asking. His aim is he wants to stay focused and build on what he has started. Free styling is good but time now for me to release material for the world.
“I have been doing music professionally since 2019 when I recorded my first song,” Dadda Freestyles said.
“I am influenced by life and the day to day plight of society. I am also influenced by musical acts such as the likes of Professor Nutts, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, I Wayne, Andre 3000, Vybz Kartel, Capleton, Sizzla Kalonji, Spragga Benz, Buju Banton. All these elements come into play when I’m writing.”
