Within 10 hours of its release the Bob Marley: One Love – Teaser Trailer blew up on the Internet, racking up more than 14 million views on YouTube, Twitter and Instagram combined – a global tsunami of interest about the late reggae singer.

Bob Marley: One Love stars Kingsley Ben Adir as the reggae icon, who secured the role after a wide ranging casting search. In the official poster, which was unveiled this week, he is seen standing with his back turned and right fist raised in a pose that is reminiscent of Marley

Director Marcus Green has praised Ben-Adir’s acting in the movie. Green said Ben-Adir lost weight for the role, learned to play the guitar, learned to sing, and learned the Jamaican dialect.

“We were looking for the best actor for the role, and we found that in Kingsley Ben-Adir from his very first audition tape–and we went through several hundred. It was a lot. We scoured every island in the Caribbean that we could. And when I saw that tape, I know Ziggy and I, we looked at each other and were like, ‘The foundation is there.’ He just had he had the ability to tap into the essence,” Green was quoted as saying.

Lashana Lynch plays Rita Marley, the other central figure in the movie, and delivers a brilliant portrayal.

The movie was filmed in the UK and in Jamaica, and is reported to have a predominantly Jamaican cast working behind the scenes and on camera.
