Jamaica hit a record number of deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours at 13, pushing the COVID death tally over 500 at 507.
The deceased are:
- a 56-year-old female from Kingston and St. Andrew
- a 73-year-old female from Kingston and St. Andrew
- an 86-year-old male from Kingston and St. Andrew
- a 46-year-old female from Kingston and St. Andrew
- a 50-year-old male from Kingston and St. Andrew
- a 61-year-old female from Kingston and St. Andrew
- a 79-year-old female from Kingston and St. Andrew
- a 78-year-old male from St. Elizabeth
- a 62-year-old male from St. Elizabeth
- an 81-year-old female from St. Thomas
- a 71-year-old male from St. Thomas
- a 59-year-old female from St. Thomas
- a 26-year-old female from St. Catherine
Meanwhile, total confirmed cases have surpassed the 32,000 mark with the island recording 821 positive results from a sample of 2,014 tests on Tuesday, pushing total confirmed cases to 32,728 with 16,513 active.
Of the new cases, 344 are males and 477 are females, with ages ranging from 1 day to 95 years.
Kingston and St Andrew recorded the most new cases with 226, followed by St Catherine with 195, and St Thomas with 92.
Trelawny with six was the only parish to record single digit new infections.
In the meantime, there were 102 more recoveries, bringing that total to 15,473
The number of patients hospitalised has increased to 371 with 24 being moderately and 29 critically ill.
According to the Ministry of Health, three persons are in government quarantine, while 21,734 are quarantined at home.
