VERSHON FEEDS THE HOMELESS @one876 @vershonmusic

“i was only able to do it two times last year because things are kinda tight, but I bought some food stuff, hired a chef, and bought the boxes, and went downtown to feed the homeless. Bwoy, people are really feeling it cause when I saw the people start to fight for the food, tears came to my eyes, especially when the food ran out. The people were so much in need, I had to hand out money to them,” he said in a release.

Now, the young deejay is having a breakout year with the release of the single, Ruff Up the World. The single jumped to #7 on the ER Dancehall Top ten chart last week, so his philanthropic activity has been paying dividends.

“Right now, I have a little bit more change in my pockets now when compared to last year so I want to expand this programme. This weekend, I want to do 50 boxes this time because the other day, I got a powerful dream, and I woke up with tears in my eyes, Jamaican people are suffering and I want to help them,” Vershon said.

In the meantime, Vershon’s new charismatic delivery and brilliant flow is winning over dancehall fans in Costa Rica, Trinidad, Guyana, Belize, Canada and the continent of Africa. Another dancehall single, ‘Apretada’ has hit the #1 spot on an ethnic dancehall-reggae chart in Costa Rica. He will perform at the Peppers nightclub on November 15th in Costa Rica.

Currently signed to Birch Hill Records, he has a slew of new singles which are slated to hit FM radio in the next couple of weeks. One of those singles is ‘Biggest Strength’ for All Chronic Records on the ‘Dutty Bottle’ riddim.

“Bambino played it the other morning on ZIP and mi get a good response,” he said.
