Buoyed by the success of his latest number one hit single, 'Hot Like a Fya' , Waspp is preparing to amp up the promotion with a stateside promotional tour. The deejay, known for his brilliant wordplay and spitfire delivery, is now making final preparations for his first month-long U.S. promotional tour which will see him making stops throughout the New York Tri-State Area (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut) , Florida and several other East Coast states.
"This tour is based on the demand for Waspp based on the success of Hot Like a Fya and the response in the US ethnic markets to the Above Average mixtape that came out earlier this year. Right now, I am ready to push my career to the next level, my management team is ready and lyrically, mi ready fi deal wid it," Waspp said. The tour ends on May 31st, 2013. Waspp scored the 5th number one of his career since making his debut several years ago when last weekend, his single Hot Like a Fiyah shot to the top of the FIWI CHOICE video chart clinching the top spot from I Octane. The artiste's previous number ones include: Cry Fi Dem, Unfair Officer, Buss Di Place and the thought provoking ‘Thank You’. Produced by JA Productions on the Overtime Rhythm ‘Hot Like Fiyah’ continues to enjoy heavy rotation on the FM Airwaves and has also become a favourite on the playlist of several top disc jocks across the Diaspora. The single jumped two places to #3 on the CVM Hitlist video charts this week. This latest achievement is the result of an aggressive island-wide campaign launched several week earlier to promote his latest mixtape dubbed ‘Above Average’. In a release to the media an elated Waspp said, “It’s a great feeling to see your hard work paying off, sometimes things may seem daunting but once you stay focus and have patience it will come.” Waspp's 'Above Average' mixtape has also been getting a good response. the 17 track mix presented by Pstreet records and mixed by DJ dot com was released in two cuts, clean and explicit. A combination of some of Dancehall's best producers including Daseca, Birchill and Jaydae Production completes the package of what promises to be one of the best mixes released by Waspp in recent times.
