Spotlight and Michael Jordan resemblance?

Since his emergence as the love interest of dancehall star Macka Diamond, rumours have been swirling that deejay Spotlight, who is tall and bears a resemblance to  NBA Player Michael Jordan, is actually the superstar's son. That is not true.

"I get that a lot, people come up to me in airports and shopping malls, asking me if I am his son. My father played ball but he was no Michael Jordan," the lanky six-footer Spotlight said, laughing.

The rumours started after a video circulated with him splashing a lot of cash while shopping with Macka Diamond.

The artiste, whose real name is Stennett Harris, is the illegitimate son of basketball player Jaylen Harris who was as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves' summer league team in 1983. Harris injured his ankle the week before camp began and didn't heal in time to participate and was then waived by the Jazz. He played overseas ball in Phillipines before returning to the NBA to play three seasons with the Timberwolves.

Harris was the subject of a paternity suit in the late 1980s but Spotight would not say much about this. Spotlight is no ball player himself, preferring to concentrate his efforts on music and his latest single, 'Prove It' with Macka Diamond has been gaining popularity in the streets.

Spotlight shot scenes for the video last week in Kingston.
