Police have confiscated a gun which was discovered at the premises where Cassava Piece resident Lorenzo Thomas was killed earlier this month.

"The police found a rifle in the yard where Thomas was killed in Cassava Piece," the source told one876.

Last week, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Branch's (CIB) Major Investigation Division (MID) charged Andre Hinds as well as a 16 year-old minor, the son of entertainer Mavado, in relation to Thomas' murder.

They are jointly charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, arson, shooting with intent and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

The two accused were booked to appear in court on Monday, June 18, but Mavado's son was a no-show.

The police are alleging that on June 5 at about 3:00 a.m., the two accused were among a group of armed men who kicked open a door to Thomas' Cassava Piece house in St Andrew. Thomas was subsequently shot and chopped with machetes, and then set ablaze.

Following their arrests, the MID has said Mavado, whose given name is David Brooks, is still being sought for questioning.

The entertainer is still overseas, but his attorneys are reportedly making arrangements for his return.
