Toya has two songs in top 20 of HYPE charts

Friday, 28 May 2010 05:55 Written by
Toya is one of the hottest female artistes in Jamaica as her singles, Boss Lady and Hot Like a Fire are both in the top 20 of the HYPE TV Top 20 charts.

A BOUNCE reporter asked Stacious 13 offbeat questions in the MAY ISSUE where she talks about her greatest fears, her juicy ‘love life’, her super-sexy tongue ring and how she’s plotting to shut the Dancehall Game down and shut the haters up. She is now cold-locking the number one spot on the Jamaica Music Countdown with Come Into My Room, her high-octane collaboration with Mavado.

Khesan seamlessly bridges the concepts of fun and mad cool. A Jamaican who was raised in Canada, Khesan has returned to his native island, determined to make it big in the music biz.

While many people are blaming the Gaza and the Gully for the stagnation of dancehall music, what I am about to say may come as surprise to many, because as far as I see it without the Gully are the Gaza dancehall music would be dead right now. Like it or not since the emergence of Bounty Killer, Beenie, Shaggy and Sean Paul, Mavado and Vybz Kartel are the two most formidable artists to pop up on the dancehall radar.

Reggae artist Junior X has scored his second number one single for 2010 with his current hit song Gangster Life. Late last year he signaled his hit making intentions when he returned to the local airwaves with his controversial song The Pill, which made its way to the top of several reggae charts both locally and abroad earlier this year.

MILLSY'S MIND: Somebody stop Mr. Vegas please

The world of entertainment is exceedingly shallow. And dancehall is no different where its champions worship on the altar of bling and excess, a world where one hit song can generate millions of dollars and ensure that its creator lives a fabulous life of excess so decadent that it makes your teeth vibrate.

DJ Face heads off to Canada this week

There has been a spike in the bookings for G Life recording artiste DJ Face in the run up to her appearance on "The Settlement'.

In a country plagued by the twin tigers of poverty and unemployment, the affluent and deep pocketed often feel as if they are walking targets for an increasingly predatory population especially in the face or soaring food and oil prices. Today’s artistes believe that they are being viewed as easy targets for would-be robbers and extortionists.
