  Dancehall selector/producer Foota Hype is tweeting his thumbs off today after waltzing away with the “Social Media Icon” Award last night at the 21st Hapilos Digital Music Awards.  

The dancehall music industry had better sit up and pay attention. There is a new artiste in town, a ghetto sex bomb with attitude, and her name is (drum roll please). Rage. This saucy rhyme-spitter has released a new single, 'Fling It Up', recorded for the US-based indie powerhouse, Platinum Camp Records, which is blowing up all over social media, generating thousands of views in just one day. 

The five foot 2 inch ghetto sex bomb Sasanya Dawson will be hosting her birthday party tonight in Negril. Riding high on the success of 'Zum Zum' which has become a fixture on the FIWI Choice top 20 charts in recent weeks, Sasanya is having a great Summer which promises to only get better with tonight's soiree. 

Charleston's first breakout reggae band, The Dubplates, recently released their new album Box Full of Steel. The album debuted at #4 on iTunes U.S. Top Reggae Albums this past week. The Dubplates have a huge lineup of musicians, ranging between 9 and 12 pieces and have been playing together for over 8 years. 

Jonnah disses Kasanova with Liad Dem

Former Magnum Kings and Queens winner Jonnah has released a hard-hitting diss song, 'Liad Dem', where he calls out Kasanova for his ill-conceived publicity stunt which involved him going missing for almost three weeks. 

Dancehall artiste Kasanova has surfaced after almost two and a half weeks where he was believed to be missing. He called a popular video blogger to announced his return from the dead.   

Former Kingston mayor Angela Brown Burke has found herself in the eye of a growing social media firestorm following her post which suggested that Prime Minister Andrew Holness is to blame for what they said was Elaine Thompson's loss in the women's 100 metres at the 16th IAAF World Championships in London.
