Dancehall singjay Viice has released a video to push his popular single, 'Poor Life'  and he has been receiving rave reviews from music critics and fans alike.

"The feedback to the video has been great, people love the storyline because it deals with the real issues of poverty in Jamaica. But people get the message and love the vibes and the positive messages of upliftment through hard work. In the meantime, mi a print up CDs and the song continues to get good rotation on the major radio stations," the artiste whose real name is Nicholas Peterkin, said.

The single itself was released online via the Musiq UK label, and has racked up thousands of views. Poverty remains a contentious issue in Jamaica with a 2016 United Nations Development Programme report which claims  that 406,000 Jamaicans live either near or in extreme poverty, with 14,000 of that number living  in extreme poverty, that is earning under US$1.90 per day.

"Nuff people in Jamaica ah live at under $200 a day, we born poor but we don't have to stay poor; poor life nu fit me,: he said.

Promoters overseas have begun to take notice of the young artiste, especially on the African continent.

"Right now, I am talking to promoters in Gambia and Zimbabwe about possible shows for June," he said.

In recent times, the Montego Bay-based artiste has been aggressively promoting the song at events across Jamaica. He performed the song at Spanish Town Prison Oval , a stage show at the University of the West Indies campus in Mona, St. Andrew, and at the Hague Agricultural show in Falmouth, Trelawny.

Viice will be releasing a collaboration called 'Holiday' featuring Mon-e Myke this Summer.
