Manchester-based sound system Target Systems has been steadily building a reputation for vibes juggling and its heavy bass system one event at a time.    Fans of the sound are still talking about the dance where they upstaged year-to-year sound Stone Love during an event in Manchester.

"We are a small sound, but we heavy. The other day, we were playing at an event and after Stone Love play, we come on, and when we start and the bass chip in, every man left from round Stone Love and surround our sound the way the bass heavy, yu can feel and hear it inna yu body, all the Stone Love selectors dem lock off and tun off the light and disappear to how we have the place," Alanso McKoy, owner of Target Systems, said.

The sound, a heavy bass sound system, has built up a reputation for vibesy juggling, ice cube clear sound and great selections across a wide genre of musical styles such as retro, reggae, soca and R&B.

“Target Systems is a unique sound system that has the heart of the Jamaican people at its core, which is dancehall music. We can split up the two columns in four, so you get a surround-sound effect where the bass ah lick yu from all angles," he said.

The sound system was the resident sound at a event called Wray and Nephew White Overproof Rum Target Thursdays in Spur Tree , Manchester. And it has played at numerous events along the south coast of the island. Target Systems team of DJ Al, DJ Stunner, Dj Screamers and DJ Clayon entertain are guaranteed crowd-pleasers.

“We can play a variety of music and different themes every week. We are presently getting a lot of requests for dates because of our expertise in playing party music,” he said.

Four years ago, McKoy founded an events management firm dubbed Target Clique along with his manager Christopher Sinclair. They successfully launched multiple events such as ‘Pretty Girls Only’ and ‘Dance Hall Nice Again’, highly successful events which were well received by patrons across the island.

Owing to the success of Target Clique events and Mr Mckoy's love of music, the entrepreneur formed Target Systems and launched it at a Target Clique event dubbed ‘Dance Hall Nice Again’ on November 23rd 2013.

“The event was an outstanding success, and since that time, we have grown from strength to strength,” Mr. McKoy said.

Target Systems will be playing at upcoming events such as 'Pretty Girls Only' on May 23rd, an event called 'Upscale' on May 30th in St. Elizabeth, and the Mandeville Carnival on May 31st.

"We are also getting bookings for overseas events, we have a booking for the next edition of British Link Up in Miami on May 24th, and we have been getting requests to keep a leg of 'Pretty Girls Only' in Fort Lauderdale over the Summer, the sound is taking off," McKoy said.

Target Systems have released a number of mix tapes that are popular along the south coast. They have developed a following for their retro series of mix tapes of dancehall, reggae and soul music.

"We also have one drop mix tapes we call 'New Culture", and we just released a new dancehall  mixtape via our twitter, Facebook and our Target Systems website," he said.

Target Systems has a bull’s eye firmly trained on achieving success in the Dancehall Game, and they will. You can bet your house on it.
