Quick. Pop quiz! Who is the hottest producer in Jamaica this Summer? Stephen Di Genius' McGregor? Errggh, wrong answer. Russian? Try again. Not Nice? Close but no banana.

The correct answer is a young man who is known by his friends as Seanizzle.

His One Day riddim is without a doubt the soundtrack for the Summer, spawning no fewer than five hits, Beenie and Fambo's alcoholic anthem, Rum and Red Bull, Goofy's 'Swaggerific', Khago's 'Nuh Sell Out Mi Friend Dem', Liquid's Wifey Walk Out, and Seanizzle himself singing the title track, One Day.

He has a virtual hammerlock on the airwaves with his party-raving One Day, and the riddim shelled down the ATI weekend.

"It feels great to get the recognition but it took a lot of hard work to get here, so I am not taking anything for granted. I am ready to make the next hit riddim right now," he said.

He has left a bunch of other producers in his wake. Vybz Kartel has catapulted Russian to the top tier but he has not had a breakout riddim similar to the One Day as yet. Di Genius is still doing well with Street Swag and that may take off for the Xmas, but he is definitely playing second fiddle to Seanizzle right now. He may be concentrating more on his artiste career after enjoying success with Nah Friend Again but Street Swag sounds as if he is already starting to plagiarize himself. Is it just me or does Street Swag sound suspiciously like Triple Bounce.

Jordan took a break, and took care of his newborn child, and his Sex Appeal riddim is out there with artistes such as Mavado, Blak Ryno, Idonia, Chase Cross and Einstein with the title track, but it still hasn't really blown up. Not Nice has found a big hit with the Gangsta City riddim but that is
perhaps a contender for Best Reggae rhythm.

Right now, the dancehall universe belongs to Seanizzle and I dare anyone else to say different.
