< Justus Arison, the friend and business associate of Patrick 'Roach' Samuels, is aggrieved at the brutal way his friend was killed this morning. "This is un-fucking believable. Dem just slap weh the man," a grieving Justus said. "I just spoke to the man a couple of hours ago, he was on the road promoting the riddim, the ting ah pop off wicked inna the streets. And nothing never gwaan pon the road fi something like this happen. This is a wakeup call to all Jamaica, we caan mek the minority of a few evil people fi hold all of us the majority at hostage, dem a control we through fear. Ah same way dem kill Bogle, but it gone too far now, we ah glorify murder and violence, and we ah kill off weself when we all in this thing together. Roach ah the realest yute yu will ever meet inna your life. Him talk him mind, but him talk to yu face, ah the realest yute, him live inna truth."

Arison also called Roach "one of the frontline soldiers fi reggae music".
A tearful Justus said that Roach was more than just a business associate, he was a "brother".
"Him ah the only person mi talk to everyday. Right now, it hard fi me process this, the most Roach will do is talk him mind. All these years, mi and him a par, mi no have no problem wid him because him talk him mind. Him ah mi family. The man do great things inna music, him produce Kartel, him produce platinum tracks with Sean Paul, and him ah the first man fi believe inna mi work. Ah him buss mi inna music, we do everything together, ah just true him no have him visa that's why him no de a farrin wid me right now. Ah just last week, the Nicki Minaj-Mavado video shoot a farrin, and the riddim ah pop off wicked. If it wasn't for Roach, I would be nothing in music. Roach ah rider, him ah roller, him ah the realest yute mi will ever know."
