A tragic suicide is the macabre inspiration for dancehall newcomer Qura VX's latest single, 'See You in Heaven' which is a tribute song to the memory of a friend who committed suicide earlier this year. The song was released in May 2016 on the SG Records/Blue Sky labels.
"The song is a tribute to the life of Rhojay McLean who killed himself on May 12, 2016. HIs death shook me up because he is my neighbour and I knew him well, and he killed himself on my birthday by hanging himself from a mango tree. The image of his death is forever burned into my brain, it knock mi wicked to see  a young man, at the age of 21, give up his life so tragically, and to see his mother crying on the ground, it shook me up," he said.

"For days, I wanted to cry and couldn't cry, so I told his sister I would sing a song for him which I recorded and which played at his funeral,"  the artiste whose real name is Mark J. Hyman, said.

Qura VX has since shot a video for the song which he will release officially this month.

Qura VX was raised in the community of Cooreville Gardens where he attended George Headley Primary and Pembroke Hall High School. Upon leaving high school, he began to hone his craft.

In 2007 and he formed a close friendship with  well-known music producer, engineer and music producer,  Jay-Crazy, of the successful Jay-Crazie Records. Qura has also done numerous singles at McDove Music such as "Break through Feat. Ikonn " and  "Party all day". He recently did a collaboration with veteran singer, Strangejah Cole, and he recently landed a major career boost when his single, 'Party On', made it to the soundtrack for the movie 'King Of The Dancehall' directed by Nick Cannon.

Qura VX recorded a project for producer Jay Crazie where he will be featured on a riddim alongside ace deejay Vybz Kartel. That riddim project will be released in January 2017.

"Just look out for Qura VX, I am bringing the versatility and excitement to dancehall today," he said.
