Reggae superstar Mykal Rose will be performing in Canada on May 24th as he continues his ‘Showdown in a Bloody Town’ tour alongside Sly and Robbie.

“The ting revolutionise, it nuh normal, the tour look good. The fans are enthusiastic about it, people are excited about the new album, Crucial World. The sales of the album are going well on iTunes, the hits dem a pile

He will perform before a sold-out audience at the Jazz It club in South Beach in Miami, Florida on May 18th.

He is also booked to perform at the Sierra Nevada reggae festival between June 21st and June 23rd. After that, he will jet off to the ‘Hippie festival’ on June 28 in Oregon in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. He will be headliner on the annual ‘Reggae On the River’ show in California before ending his tour on July 4th with a festival in South Carolina.

“That show will be the final one on the Showdown tour, then I will come home to Jamaica to complete my next album produced by ‘John John’ again, before I touch the road with Etana,” Rose said.

He will also embark on a ‘Oneness’ tour with Etana in the middle of August where he will perform with the songstress on several gigs. The Oneness tour will go on until mid-September.
In the meantime, Mykal Rose is aggressively promoting his ‘Crucial World’ album which was produced by Lloyd ‘John John’ James. The album is brilliantly produced with a heavy dancehall component as evidenced by ollaborations with Assassin (Gang War), Shabba Ranks (Quick Fi Shoot) and Damian Marley (Shoot Out). Rose credited Lexicon and Angel Doolas for their critical roles in the writing process.

"The album is a revolutionary album. It's really dealing with issues in the street and it has a new age energy. It's fresh," Rose said.
