  Dancehall star Mr. Vegas performed at a show dubbed ‘Pickney Love at Christmas’ earlier this week at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel on behalf of one of his favourite charities, The Mustard Seed.

“The Mustard Seed is one of my favourite charities, this year, we got a bunch of Christmas toys and we’re stocking up on these toys to give to the 70 children in the HIV care section of Mustard Seed,” he said.

Mr. Vegas also donates a percentage of sales from his ‘Voices of Sweet Jamaica’’ album towards the Mustard Seed charity.

Mr. Vegas has had a very successful year so far with his album doing well on international reggae charts.  International recording star Nicki Minaj declared that dancehall superstar Mr. Vegas' 'Bruk It Down' is her favourite dancehall song. The Pink Friday superstar revealed that tidbit of info that during an interview on Wednesday November 22, with DJ Prostyle on POWER 105.

“Everytime that song comes on, you gotta turn around and look at you’re a*** and go real crazy on that. I did that onstage in the UK and the people went buck wild,” the first lady of the Young Money Cash Money Billionaires (YMCMB), said.

Nicki Minaj is a big fan of dancehall music having collaborated with Gyptian on his hit single, Hold Yuh, and teaming up with Beenie Man on the single, Gunshot, which was included on her album.

Mr. Vegas, who has had a breakout year in 2012, with ‘Bruk It Down’ being added to the playlists of mainstream radio stations in the United States, greeted the news with satisfaction.

“This is very gratifying because Nicki is a major star, with millions of fans. I have been in the business for 16yrs and am grateful and humbled that my music is still doing so well,” Vegas said.

Mr. Vegas returned to the island last week Thursday after a series of shows in the U.S
