An article in the Tribune newspaper in the Bahamas entitled 'Bahamians not interested in Vybz Kartel's skincare line' appears to ridicule the Summer Time deejay, and his unusual appearance, his weaves and his skin bleaching. Bet say Kartel ah go call the Bahamians dem bad mind and all these things.

The deejay will launch a new skincare line of products and fragrances this month, as well as a fragrance based off Kartel's popular catch phrase, and made for both men and women, called (drum roll please)'OH'.  Among the new products to be release on the market are, Vybz Skin Brightener, Vybz Body Brightener, Vybz Anti-Aging Moisturiser, Vybz Astringent, Vybz Soap and OH! by Vybz Kartel in men's cologne and women's perfume.

One person interviewed for the article said:

"Vybz Kartel actually has a fragrance out by the name of OH? I can't imagine what that smells like. Just imagine me going into a store asking people if they have 'OH'. I would never purchase any skin care products by Vybz Kartel," said Jason Taylor.

Jashad Simmons said: "Hell no I wouldn't buy his skin care line God make me black I will be black. I am not that black whereas I need to bleach. I just can't support him because he's into darkness, bleaching, wearing weave, one more feminine action and I am really going to think he's gay."

This will be the third different line of products merchandised by Vybz Kartel since the beginning of this year. This past February, the self-proclaimed "Dancehall Hero" announced the launch of his new shoe brand, "Addis." He also announced his intention to release T-shirts, dog tags and belt buckles based off the Kartel brand "Di Teacha," and unveiled his own brand of blue power soap called "Vybz Cake Soap," in May across select stores in Kingston and Falmouth.

Additionally, Kartel is reportedly still planning to debut his own rum line; months after his successful Street Vybz Rum brand was effectively discontinued following the severance of ties with former business partner and American businessman, Corey Todd.

Kartel is currently shooting episodes for his upcoming reality show, Teacha's Pet to debut on the Jamaican television station CVM TV and has also released new singles within the last two weeks such as Dedication and Love You Enuh on Sounique Records' Lost Angel Riddim.
