There is a mushrooming crisis on the Gaza once again. This time, it centres around the controversial embattled figure of Vybz Kartel and the red hot artiste Tommy Lee who has rocketed to fame in recent months as Kartel's most trusted protoge.

The two were reportedly pretty close a few weeks ago, but in recent weeks, their association has hit a major speed bump, as Kartel believes that Tommy Lee is no longer loyal to the Gaza cause. A text was sent through Vawnessa 'Gaza Slim' Saddler to journalist Anthony Miller of the popular entertainment programme, ER, that airs every Friday on TVJ, which showed a clear falling out between the two.

The text presumably mirrored Kartel's stance on the wavering loyalty of the remaining members of his clique, an interesting development given the fact that Kartel himself disbanded the Portmore Empire over two months ago.

"No animosity but within a week of my arrest, they started giving other people managerial and booking positions. But where were these people when I was building their careers? When I was investing time and money to transform them from nobody to somebody? They are opportunists and fake."

The text went on to say that: "The only two loyal people are Slim and Sheba (the girls)" .

Tommy Lee was interviewed by Anthony Miller regarding the text which seemed to question his loyalty to the Gaza. Tommy Lee made it clear that he will not be leaving the Gaza anytime soon, no matter what Kartel wanted to infer about his loyalty.

"Mi born Gaza, mi live Gaza and mi ah go die Gaza," he said during the taped interview with Anthony Miller which will air on Friday night on TVJ.

Dancehall insiders believe that Kartel wants to exert more control over Tommy Lee's career and wants a large stake as it relates to the artiste's bookings and publishing rights. However, Tommy Lee, who had never signed to the Portmore Empire, was wary of inking a contract with the incarcerated, self-described World Boss at this time.
