Released three weeks ago, the video is racking up thousands of views on video-sharing websites all over the world, and it has been added to rotation on several radio stations in Jamaica and the Caribbean. The song deals with the theme of love between a girl and a rastaman, a love that has the ability to cross international boundaries.
"This song has the ability to cross over to major international markets for reggae in Australia, Africa and Europe and the early feedback has been very encouraging," JR Production label executive manager Adoney Reid explained.
The song is propelled by a catchy singalong chorus that reggae enthusiasts will love all over the world. Juju Reid croons: "You Coulda Neva Ever Find A Love (Like Mine)/You Coulda Search This World Still Can’t Find A Love (Like Mine)/She Want Mi Rasta Love, She Need Mi Rasta Love...”.
The song mixes a melodic two drop beat overlaid by mellow guitar riffs. Produced by Money Green Productions, the video for the single was directed and shot by Dukey Dukez. The main scenes showcase the earthy culture of Jamaica with Juju Blood frolicking with his main squeeze on a black sandy beach.
Born Junior Reid on October 11, 1991, he is one of the sons of noted reggae artiste Junior Reid. During his youth he gravitated towards the urban lifts of dancehall music but still found love for the ever present reggae cultural tunes. By the age of seven he was performing with his father and older brother on stage. Therefore it wasn’t surprising that he would settle down as a youngster making his way in a music career, his ultimate destiny.
He both sings and deejays, which is very evident on this single “International Love.”
Juju Blood's music has been has described as a mix between roots rock reggae, dancehall and hip hop. His music influences include his father Junior Reid, brothers, Andrew and Jawada Hugh (Wadda Blood) Mundell, Bob Marley, Junior Gong and Big Youth.
The artiste is currently looking to promote his debut EP “D’Yung Veteran” which contains “International Love” and other songs such as “”Weh Mi Come From” featuring Wada Blood A.K.A Jawada.
