Montego Bay is buzzing with talk regarding one of their own, Jesse James, who is fast creating a reputation for dazzling rhymes and wicked metaphors. This rhyme slinger is staking his claim to be one of the best in the business. His latest effort, Flying Colours, a pop-flavoured song is getting mad love on FM radio. Check it out.

On April 7th 1988 Jessie James was born to his parents as the sixth of eight children in Camperdown, St. Catherine, Jamaica. He began singing at a very young age and soon entered the church choir. But at the tender age of eight a stroke of faith hit Jessie when his mother died. After the passing of his mother, Jessie and his siblings were split up and brought up in different children's homes all over Jamaica.
While growing up without any immediate family around, the music gave Jessie the strength to continue his life on a positive path. Whenever he felt stressed or down he would sing to lift his spirit. Or he would listen to the songs of Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Kenny Rogers, Sizzla and many more, which always inspired him. At the age of fifteen he started to write his own lyrics and got together with friends to formulate the group “Faith”. They performed at several local functions and church in his home town. But when Jessie was moved to another children's home the group came apart.
Jessie's further life brought him through more parishes such as St. Andrew, St. Ann and St. James, where he went to school and worked in various trades, but always continued his musical path. In 2005 he tried his luck at “Rising Star” and made it to the Top 10 in his parish, but didn’t make it in the national top rank. Nonetheless he continued making music and recorded songs in various studios such as Bessout Productions in St.Elizabeth or Hard Street Records in Monetgo Bay.
At Hard Street Records he met producer Anil “Phantom” Montaque from Inspired Music Concepts. Phantom saw great potential in Jessie and decided to feature him on his MoBay Riddim, a selection with only the hottest artistes in Montego Bay. Since then Jessie has been putting out a couple of singles on the Inspired Music Concepts label and he's also been on riddim selections with well renowned artists such as Warrior King, Fantan Mojah, Lutan Fyah and Tommy Lee.
Being a very versatile singer, Jessie covers many genres like Soul, RnB, Reggae and Dance Hall. He is currently working on a mix tape which will be released in the winter 2012. Keep up to date with Jessie on his Facebook page.
