At least one thing inna Jamaica is free for now as motorists using the newly opened Mount Rosser leg of the North/South link of Highway 2000 will travel for free until September 5.

The four-lane Mount Rosser bypass will officially open to the motoring public Wednesday morning, August 6.

Minister of Transport and Works Omar Davis speaking at the opening ceremony Tuesday said that toll rates to travel on the bypass after September will be $200 for sedans, $420 of sport utility vehicles and $1000 for trucks.

The 19-kilometre roadway extends from Linstead in St Catherine to Moneague in St Ann, and will result in a significant reduction in travel time for motorists.
