Summer 2013 marked an exciting season for Portmore’s indomitable sound system--- Flava Unit. The group consisting of Desmond ‘Father Dezi’ Reid, Dave ‘Tall-Boss’ Scott, Akeel ‘Likkle Rich’ Harris, Matthew ‘Badda Bling’ Mothersill, Gavin ‘Flava’ Samuels and Andre ‘Astro-Flava’ Thomas has been a regular feature at the summer’s hottest parties.

Apart from its weekly event dubbed Sexy Tuesdays held at Lip-Stick roof in Portmore and its regular stints playing at The Office during FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, the popular Ken’s Wildflower and Prendy’s on the Beach; Flava Unit brought the vibes at Marco Polo and Dream Weekend during the 2013 Independence party weekend.
Flava Unit ventured to England for three weeks in August and will return to Europe for three major dates this November.
While dominating the party scene, the sound system has released six mix CDs this summer to rave reviews. The group is in the planning stages of the ever popular party Double Doze of Sexiness--- group member Tall-Boss birthday party--- to be held on September 21st as well as Badda Bling’s party to be held on October 26th.
Flava Units plans to continue making waves in the dancehall arena throughout 2013 and will culminate the year with the celebration of the group’s 6th anniversary on December 19th, 2013.
