The EME (Excellence in Music & Entertainment) Awards Show was one to remember for Denyque Dontre and her team. The Supergirl, who was nominated for Best New Female Artiste, graced the Red Carpet in a gorgeous red and black ensemble which she quoted was designed by Pamela Welds, an Haute Couture designer from Mandeville, who also happens to be her mother.

The cameras went wild as she made her way down the red carpet, stopping to do interviews with the media houses present. Denyque felt like the true star that we deem her to be. After finding her place in the audience, Denyque was forced to relieve herself of her comfort as she had been announced as the Best New Female Artiste in her category.

She was speechless, awestruck and most humbled. As she collected her award she gave a very short but meaningful speech. On March 12, 2011, Supergirl was indeed a winner and we look forward to another amazing year with her. She goes off to Kenya, Africa in April where she will host the Teenage CHAT Awards and where she is also a nominee.
