Could Kartel claim a fourth consecutive DJ of the Year title from jail? Or has the gap between him and the other deejays closed enough so that they can slingshot around him and become the premiere artiste from Jamaica? The streets seem to believe that Kartel's days are numbered because it has been only his 'Bike Back' single which has been making waves on the charts. Kartel's last major hit was the Summer hit, Summer Time but since then, he has suffered a precipitous decline in terms of his musical output and his personal life is in shambles with his recent raft of murder charges. What will happen? Can Assassin rise to the occasion?
ImageImageAssassin has scored two number ones with Run the Place and Talk How Mi Feel, while his recent offerings JPS, Late and Dutty Kartoon have also enjoyed a lot of airplay. Aidonia is making a big with his 'One More Gyal' and 'Summer Sun' singles, while Khago has pushed himself into the conversation with the monster number one hit, Tun Up De Ting and his followup Tax Inna My World on Seanizzle's new hot riddim. At this point, Beenie Man is still in contention but it is anybody's race.
