Buju's new trial date set for December Featured

Buju Banton's attorney David Oscar Markus made a request for the artiste to be released on bond after after the 12-person jury sent him a second note on Monday saying they couldn't reach a verdict. They had been deliberating since Thursday, after a four-day trial, but he may have to wait until next week to file the motion in the Sam M. Gibbons Federal court.  
Florida judge Judge James Moody declared a mistrial today for the Jamaican reggae star Buju Banton, who was accused of conspiring to buy cocaine from an undercover police officer last year.

U.S. District Judge Moody said a retrial would not begin until at least December.
