Will the US try to sink Grammy-winning reggae artiste  Buju Banton when he goes on trial tomorrow? Or is his win a good omen, a signal that the Rastafarian firebrand is about to emerge from the darkest chapter in his life, and into a new dawn...his freedom?

Buju's second trial is scheduled to begin on Valentine's Day. It is ironic that Buju Banton, who had been nominated five times before, finally got the nod for the coveted award, just a day before his trial begins.

Buju won the award in the reggae album category a few hours ago for his 2010 album "Before the Dawn" .
