A male suspect is reportedly in the custody of the police in relation to the double homicide of businesswoman Simone Campbell Collymore, and a taxi-driver, who were gunned down earlier this year.

The Constabulary Communication Unit confirmed that the Constant Spring police had a suspect in custody.

"The suspect has not been charged yet so we cannot disclose any details about him," a representative of the CCU told Loop News.

According to media reports, on January 2, Mrs. Collymore was travelling in a taxi on Stanley Terrace in Red Hills, St Andrew, when gunmen opened fire, hitting her and the driver of the taxi — Winston Walters.

Both were pronounced dead at hospital. Security video footage was captured of the incident. In the video, you can see the men pulling up on bikes and attacking the occupants of the car. They open the car door and continue to shoot Simone and Mr Walters mercilessly. There were two other men who rode the bikes and no doubt they are having diarrhoea problems right now!

In the aftermath of that double homicide, Omar Collymore and his two co-accused, Michael Adams and Dewayne Pink, were charged Simone Campbell-Collymore and the 36-year-old taxi operator Winston Watson.

The widower, Collymore, himself, was shot just days before his wife's funeral. The widower and another man were shot and injured at Allied Insurance Brokers Limited on Belmont Road in Kingston.
