Sexual offences dominate St. Catherine court cases

Sexual offences will dominate the list of cases presently before the Spanish Town Resident Magistrates' court during this session. There are also nine cases of incest in that list.  

 

One hundred and twenty cases have been listed for this session which normally last for six weeks. The breakdown is as follows:

84 sexual offences

19 murders

1 manslaughter

3 causing death by dangerous driving

2 grievious bodily harm with intent

4 Possession of identity information

4 Participating in criminal organisation.

 

 

Madam Counsel Sharon Milwood-Moore outlined that within the 84 sexual offences, 32 were rape, 22 having sexual relations with a person under the age of 16, 9 carnal abuse, 9 incest and 5 grievious sexual assault.
