The trial involving two brothers and another man, who are accused of cutting a man in two and stuffing his body into suitcases, started on Thursday in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrates' court.

The case will be presided by  Senior Resident Magistrate Lyle Armstrong.

However, one of the co-accused Paul Hendricks was not present as he made good his escape from the Portmore lock up last week and is still on the run.

Applications were submitted for bail but were once again denied by the judge who said based on the seriousness of the crime and that one of the accused is on the run, bail could not be granted at that time.

The accused, Andre and Oshane Love along with Paul Hendricks, are charged with murder.

The gruesome nature of the case had earlier this month compelled RM Maddix to recuse herself from the matter.

Allegations are that sometime in 2011, all three accused had an altercation with the deceased where they beat him and took him to an open lot where he was cut in two and placed in two separate suitcases.

The trial for the Love brothers continues on April 14th.
