Reggae fans were surprised at the death of Suzanne Couch in Mexico, resulting from stage four breast cancer.

She died yesterday at a Mexican facility, less than one month after her last public performance at the Hope in The Hills concert in Strawberry Hills, St Andrew.

Couch, who had been battling stage four triple-negative inflammatory breast cancer since 2016, was being treated at Clinica CIPAG, where she died. She was 56 years old.

"People close to her knew what was going on for a good while, but she never really showed it. It's been almost two years since she was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer," Couch's son-in-law Eric Rademarkers said.
