The lead attorney in the Vybz Kartel murder appeal case told the Appeals Court on Wednesday that her client could not have been at a Havendale, St Andrew house where Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams was killed as Kartel was at a Corporate Area hospital when the alleged murder was committed.

Valerie Neita-Robertson said the entertainer arrived at a Corporate Area hospital at 7:48 pm on the same day of the incident.

"It would mean that Mr Palmer would not be at the house when this (the murder) happened," the Queens Counsel told the court.

Neita-Robertson argued that this information challenges the accuracy of cell tower information that was used during the entertainer’s 2014 murder trial.

Evidence was given by police Inspector Warren Williams, who heads the police cyber crimes unit, that cell tower information placed Kartel at the Havendale house at 7:52 pm.

However, Neita-Robertson pointed to evidence given by the main prosecution witness that he arrived at the house at 8:00 pm, witnessed the events that unfolded and then took Kartel to the hospital close to 9:00 pm.

Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, was sentenced to life in prison after he was convicted in April, 2014 for the murder of Williams. He was killed over guns that reportedly went missing.

Kartel was ordered to serve 35 years before he is eligible for parole.

His co-accused – fellow entertainer Shawn ‘Shawn Storm’ Campbell, Kahira Jones and Andre St John, were also sentenced to life in prison. They were ordered to serve 25 years before being eligible for parole.
