There is, however, a reduction in the processing fees for immigrant visas.

In the non-immigrant class, the cost of tourist, business, transit, crew member, student, exchange visitor and journalist visas, which previously cost US$140 will be increased to US$160. Petition-based visas (H, L, O, P, Q, and R), which now cost US$150 will jump to US$190.

Treaty investor and trader visas (E), which now cost US$390 will, however, be reduced to US$270, while fiancé visas (K) will be reduced from US$350 to US$240.

In the meantime, border crossing cards for persons age 15 and older, which stood at US$140 prior, will now attract a US$160 fee, while the border crossing card for persons under age 15, which had been US$14, will go up by US$1.

In the immigrant class, immediate relative and family preference applications, which now cost US$330, will be reduced to US$230. Employment-based applications priced at US$720 will drop to US$405, while other immigrant visa applications which now attract a US$305 fee will be reduced to US$220.

The embassy said the Diversity Visa Programme fee, which is now US$440, will be dropped to US$330, while the Determining Returning Resident Status will drop from US$380 to US$275.
