Popular radio presenter Markland 'Action' Edwards resigned from his post at Nationwide Radio with immediate effect last Friday.

"It’s a personal and business decision. As far as I know I had an excellent working relationship with management and my colleagues. My programmes manager wished me best of luck on my departure but it’s just that I have to broaden my horizons and my show could pop up on another radio station, or I could just throw myself fully into ministry,” Edwards said in a release.

Edwards was known for his energy-filled “ACTION Tonight” show in the night-time slot Mon-Fri, from 8pm-11pm.
Action started out on Nationwide in May 2008, hosting the only gospel show on the station “Holy Hype” Saturday and Sunday mornings from 6am-9am, before he was offered the afternoon slot Mon-Fri 2pm-5pm in The Entertainment Office. That show was axed in October of last year and was replaced with Ragashanti Live which was short lived, due to alleged breaches of the Broadcasting Commission act.

Edwards said that the “Action” brand will go on.

“As to where that brand will show up, all I can say is, wherever there is opportunity to do what I do best, I will certainly make use of it. I’ve not given up on media, I still have a whole lot more in store, so you will hear wherever I end up. I love media and ministry, so with advanced technology you’ll know in short order of my next move,” Edwards, who is a 17-year veteran broadcaster, said in a release.
