Dancehall star Macka Diamond hopes to use her platform as 'Banana Queen' to do good.

The popular entertainer, known for hit singles such as 'Bun Him' and 'Dye Dye', has been representing for dancehall and is grinning from 'ear to ear' since she was 'crowned' as the inaugural 'Banana Queen' at an event dubbed 'Loyalty Over Royalty' in Linstead over the weekend.

"I was a surprise guest performer at an event in Treadways, Linstead over the weekend, and the people were so excited to see us that the chef fashioned a crown out of banana leaves and presented me to a big crowd as the 'Banana Queen'. When he did that, the whole crowd started to cheer, and laugh," she said.

Apart from her laurel of banana leaves, Macka Diamond was presented with a healthy bunch of green bananas, a tongue-in-cheek reference to a provocative video that went viral on her Instagram page the previous week. Macka Diamond took the whole presentation in stride, and gave a spirited performance chock full of her danceable hits.

However the piece de resistance came after her performance when fellow deejay Spotlight wheeled Macka Diamond out of the dance in a wheelbarrow -- with the bunch of bananas in her lap.

"The whole crowd parted, and the dance mash up because the cameraman dem start video me, and the whole dance walk out behind me as Spotlight a wheel me out," Macka Diamond said laughing.

A video of the whole incident has since gone viral on gossip websites on Instagram and Facebook, racking up thousands of hits.  The Money Goddess is laughing it up with her fans.

Asked how she had exchanged diamond tiaras for banana laurels and glitzy black limousines for wheelbarrows, she responded:  'You nuh see say a recession time?".

Then she let out a rich mahogany chuckle.

"After all these years, I was the Money Goddess, the Dye Dye Duchess, the Money Oh Empress, and now, I am finally a queen," she said.
