Conscious reggae empress and songstress Khalilah Rose, continues to blaze a brilliant trail on the music scene as she gets ready to perform on International Reggae Night at Sumfest in Montego Bay.
Few artistes in the reggae industry  can claim to be as humble and creative as Khalilah Rose. The “deep rooted” empress, who is no stranger to hard work with astounding results, which is evident in her album creatively entitled:Zion’s Lullaby, captures the artiste’s wisdom, authenticity and her heart’s cry for a better mankind.
Musical Movement
The Portland native  never ceases to exude sheer wisdom, strength and love which emanates through her music. Khalilah’s single: Hail H.I.M. topped the CVM Hitlist and Hype TV Charts peaking at number one for five consecutive weeks, also her single Unite and Be Strong which features Turbulence has been enjoying heavy  rotation on airwaves locally and internationally, andWeep Not has been a staple on the playlists of many notable radio disc jokckeys.
However, at a time where reggae music arguably languishes for something fresh ,and unique, Khalilah Rose answered the call to be a messenger of Jah, where her musical movement   transcends truth, peace and love, which uplift and enrich the lives of the people who listen to her songs.
Khalilah’s  Projects
Khalilah recently signed a two year contract deal with US-based  eyewear company Yeroc in New York.  The artiste has been featured in ad campaigns for Yeroc where her name is  also engraved on the eyewear.
Meanwhile, as Khalilah Rose is set to perform at Sumfest, which is dubbed: “The Greatest Reggae Show On Earth” the artiste is currently working on a slew of projects in New York including an EP for Sony Red. Khlailah’s  albumZion Lullaby is described by a key industry insider as” a majestic and outstanding masterpiece which is deemed one of the best work in reggae’s catalogue of this prolific Jamaican.”
Nevertheless, it will be Khalilah’s first time at Sumfest, however recalling her Amsterdam 2012 debut on stage, we know it will be a very special time for Jamaica in July.
