Down Sound Records has decided to cut all ties with reggae recording artiste Fantan Mojah, just a few months after both parties had announced a reconciliation of sorts. An official release from the company accuses the artiste of "resorting to his old ways", however, representatives from Fantan Mojah's camp believes that Down Sound's move is a direct result of Fantan's refusal to sign what they dubbed "a patently unreasonable and exploitative" booking and publishing contract with the company.

"Fantan Mojah begged the company to take him back. After a year of solicitation, Down Sound then decided to move forward with extreme caution especially in the light of all the nonsense he said some 7 years ago. We have recorded some songs over the past few months and they are getting favourable play in the dancehall and on the radio. The company has extended its hand to Mojah introducing him to its marketing staff in the US and in Europe and had done a comprehensive marketing plan designed to get him into the international market as a headline act and more importantly, to arena-type venues that are frequented by the likes of Eminem and Jay Z," the statement said.

However, a number of recent events triggered this decision by Down Sound to drop the reggae artiste again.

"After further discussion and general observation, DownSound has decided to no longer do business with Mojah. It seems that he has fallen back into his old ways of listening to ignorant voices steering him away from professional and transparent business practices. The future of Reggae is far too important of a commodity to jeopardize with continued nonsense, continued negativity and in the case of Mojah, illiteracy. Down Sound will not be a part of that," the release concluded.
