Portmore-based independent record label RPR Music Productions has teamed up with reggae superstar Jah Cure to drop a new single called ‘Jah Rule the Universe’ on the critically acclaimed Izes riddim.
"We're getting a lot of positive reviews, Sirius XM radio's "The Joint" will do an interview with Jah Cure this Friday with Pat McKay to promote the single, so it is looking up. We're getting a great response from the radio in England and it just start pump up out here on HITZ and IRIE, I am getting a lot of feedback so far on the social network because of Jah Cure's massive fan base. It is getting a lot of likes on Facebook as well, it looks like the Isis riddim which also features Crisopolis, Jah Mason, Lutan Fyah, and Bryan Art is gonna be a big hit," producer Richard 'Chicken' Dawkins said.
The Izes riddim compilation will be officially released next month on, iTunes and other digital distribution networks.
Jah Cure's massive fan base ensures that his singles generate a lot of attention when they are released. Late last year, Jah Cure launched his World Cry album where he also doubled as producer on the album, and the album charted in the top five on reggae iTunes lists all over Europe.
"This is one of the biggest albums released from a Jamaican artiste. This is the hardest I've worked on an album cause I always want my work to be better than the last and I always want it to be top-notch," Jah Cure said in a release.
The 15-track album also features collaborations with international superstars Jasmine Sullivan, Rick Ross and Tupac. Jah Cure is the only Jamaican artiste to be featured on an authentic Tupac track.
He added that he was looking for positive feedback from World Cry and that he had already finished working on the follow-up album.
"Because of the set back in the release date, I was already working on a new album so the first single from the new album, titled Across 110 Street will be released on July 28, 2013. Every year I will release something new on that date because that's the day when I gained my freedom and it is a significant milestone in my life," Jah Cure added.
The reggae artiste will also depart the island next month where he will head to Kenya for a performance at their National Stadium in February
"During my last trip to Kenya, I visited Kibera, the largest slum in Nairobi, and the second-largest urban slum in Africa. I'm going to go there and give back to the kids because they really need the help, so I will livicate my time, energy and financial strength to help all those that I can," Cure said.
