After a spike in the sale of 'No Smoking' signs all across the island, it appears that the government is about to annoucechanges to the Public Health Tobacco Control regulations. Weed smokers will feel encouraged to hear that the penalties for smoking marijuana are also expected to be amended.
Insiders say that there will be some adjustments for various areas, in terms of the penalties, and a clear definition of some of the public spaces. Minister Ferguson will bring his submission to the Cabinet today, and then the public will be made aware on Tuesday. Since the implementation of the Public Health Tobacco Control Regulations on July 15, there has been a dramatic reduction to smoking in public spaces.
