A Jamaican family is mourning in the Bronx after a 28-year-old Jamaican woman was killed early Tuesday morning by her ex-boyfriend in the Bronx, New York.

The victim, Shoshane Rattigan, was reportedly shot in head as the former couple’s 7-year-old son sat in the next room.

According to a report from the New York Daily News, the shooting took place inside his family’s second-floor apartment on Bogart Avenue, near Pierce Avenue in Morris Park around 4am.

A massive manhunt has been launched to capture main suspect and ex-boyfriend of Rattigan, who allegedly fled the scene moments after a loud ‘pop’ was heard in the room where Shoshane was murdered.

The man, who is still on the run, drove off in a Honda Odessey motorcar and his identity has not yet been released.

A 20-year-old cousin was also present with Rattigan’s son during her murder, however the relative was also unharmed.
