Dancehall recording star Baby Tash is making aggressive moves to push dancehall music and style beyond the boundaries that once defined it.

She has a pair of new songs, Badda Dan Dem and Bumper, both of which are getting great rotation on FM radio. Last week, she performed a high-energy set in Independence Park in Port of Spain, Trinidad to rave reviews, wowing soca-lovers and dancehall fans alike.

“At first I could see that some people didn’t know what to expect but the second I walked on the stage and opened my mouth, it was history. The place mash up when my waistline start move. Trinidad definitely love the wine up and dancing, they love the high energy and that’s what Baby Tash represents,” Baby Tash said in a release.

At the end, she had the audience begging for more.

“The MC couldn’t stop talking about Baby Tash’s powerful voice and sexy shape. That was my first time performing my new single "Bumpa" and they loved it. They also loved "Bare Back" ''Badda Dan Dem", ''Now Him Believe Mi","Facebook" and "Nah Settle Down", when mi come off, dem aask mi mi stay,” she said, amused.

But as good as her live performances are, Baby Tash has turned up things a notch in the recording studio to the extent that she is now getting mad props for her impeccably sharp lyrics that hook the listeners from start to finish.

“With the Badda Dan Dem song, I carried things up in terms of my delivery and my lyrics, I have got a lot of feedback on Facebook regarding the lyrics, and from fans in the street…and my new Bumper song ah go hard as well, Johnny Wonder and Hapilos is handling the distribution so it ah go amp up,” she said.

Baby Tash is now focusing on promoting her music in theCaribbean territories and the United States and the reaction to her liveperformances has promoters salivating at the possibility.

“When  I was in the Trinidadairport coming home, several fans came up to me and asked for autographs andthe comments they made are very encouraging. This was an eyeopening trip for meand I am going all out to reach out to other regions outside of Jamaica,” shesaid.

True to her word, "Bumpa" was premiered inTrinidad during a live interview on NextFM 99.1 with RKG and DJ Element in early March. "Bumpa" co-produced by DreDay Production & Phatashie Entertainment, will be distributed by 21st Hapilos.

“I really appreciate the love from my Trinidad fans and I am looking forward to performing there very soon again,” she said.

Baby Tash is already booked to appear at a show in mid-Aprilin Trinidad.
