Members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force have again been plunged into mourning after their colleague, Sergeant Carlton Morrison, was found dead on Brunswick Avenue in St Catherine, yesterday.

The police suspect that the 52-year-old cop was murdered.

According to information obtained from the Corporate Communications Unit, residents made the gruesome discovery about 1:00 pm and summoned the Spanish Town police.

Morrison’s body reportedly had several stab and chop wounds and was clad in a black sweat pants and white T-shirt.

The police say Sergeant Morrison was assigned to the Detention and Courts Division where he was stationed at the Gun Court, Remand Centre on Camp Road, Kingston 5.

The Police High Command has since deployed members of the Chaplaincy Unit to provide counselling for the family and friends of the slain policeman, as well as a team of investigators to bring the perpetrator/s to justice.
