Two persons killed in St. James

The identities of the persons killed on the Redding Fishing Beach in Montego Bay, St. James yesterday have been released.  

They are 16 year old Bertland Gray of Redding and 35 year old Leon Gillings, a coconut vendor of Mount Carey in St. James.

Two teenagers, aged 17 and 19, were shot and injured.

They remain hospitalised.

The police report that shortly after 2pm, the four were standing beside Gillings coconut stall when a car drove up and the occupants ordered coconuts.

They then pulled firearms and opened fire at the group.

Gillings and the 16 year old died at the scene.

No motive has been established for the attack.
