Taliban killed in Montego Bay

One of Montego Bay's most wanted gunmen, 'Taliban' was gunned down by cops in a running gun fight in the community of Irwin in St. James on Wednesday morning. Another man was also killed as both allegedly engaged the police in a shootout in the wee hours of the morning. 

One of the men, Donrick Campbell, alias ‘Taliban’, was said to have been listed as being wanted by the St James police in connection with a number of murders and shootings in the parish.

 

The other deceased has been identified as Owen Jenkins.

 

Reports are that about 4:40 a.m., the police went to a premises in Irwin, St James, where they were engaged in a gunfight with men who alighted from a house on the property.

 

After the shooting died down, Campbell and Jenkins were found suffering from gunshot wounds, and were taken to hospital, where they were both pronounced dead.

 

The police said two firearms were recovered from the scene of the shooting.
