Reggae artiste Corey has released his new EP, 'Vision' to rave reviews from reggae music critics and the public alike. The talented singjay is attempting to use his EP bring dancehall-reggae back to the streets with authenticity and message.
The EP, which was pre-released on August 4th, is spearheaded by the heat-seeking single, 'Breakthrough', featuring I Octane, which is already bombing FM radio into submission.
"The response so far has been phenomenal, the public says that these songs were well produced and well thought out. The radio disc jocks say that the early front-runners so far are 'Vision' and 'Breakthrough' featuring I Octane, so it's a great look," he said.
The EP has been marketed primarily through word of mouth, viral videos and social media efforts. Street selectors have been gravitating towards speaker-knocking food for thought efforts such as 'Vision', or the hard-hitting 'Fear No One'.
Other standout songs include 'Dweet' and the entertaining 'Argue' which deals with a man facing a challenging domestic situation with a cheating woman. It is evident that Corey has been fine-tuning his lyrical skills and that sacrifice has paid off as he is now feeling the love from peers and radio
"It is gratifying to get so much positive feedback from people I respect in the industry, i put a lot of work into this project, I poured my heart into it," he said.
Mineral Boss Records has been built up a solid reputation as an indie label powerhouse in recent years. Jones had always been interested in music since his years at White Marl Junior High School in St Catherine, and 12 years ago, he decided to establish his own label, Mineral Boss Records, headed by himself and his partner.
This studio is situated in the community of Caymanas Bay, near the Mineral Bath off Mandela Highway in St Catherine. The label prides itself on producing positive music and exposing creative talent, especially artistes in and around its community.
The strategy has paid dividends. Last year, MBR scored a smash number one hit with Mavado's 'Progress' on the Money Boss rhythm. The song is featured on DJ Khaled’s Major Keys album, which topped the Billboard album charts late last year.
The EP will be officially released on all major downloadable platforms on August 18th.
